eBenefits User Guide

 

 

Welcome to Los Angeles Department of Water and Power eBenefits!

 

eBenefits provides LADWP employees the ability to review and change LADWP Sponsored Medical and Dental benefits conveniently, securely, and 24 hours a day!

 

 

What You Can Do During Open Enrollment:

 

  1. Change Benefit plans
  2. Add Coverage
  3. Add or Delete Dependents to Medical or Dental Plans

 

 

What You Can Do All Year

 

  1. Add Spouse/Domestic Partner to Coverage
  2. Add Child Dependents
  3. Deleting Dependent Medical/Dental coverage

 

PLEASE refer to the Options Guide for further details on the items listed above.

 

Outside of Open Enrollment, coverage is effective the first day of the month after deductions have been taken.

 

All other changes must be handled through the Health Plans Office.

Dear DWP Employee,

 

Welcome to DWP’s HR Self Service & Employee Benefits Website!

 

Please refer to the Options Guide for eligibility requirements.

 

We are pleased to provide you with access to Human Resources’ online HR and eBenefits services. If you have access to the Internet at home or the Intranet at work, you now have the option of making changes to your employee benefits and personal information. To access HR Self Service website, you will need the following User ID and Registration Code to login:

 

User ID: 

Your Employee Number

Registration Code:

Last 4 Digits of Your SSN

 

The Registration Code is unique to you and will be used the first time you access the eBenefits website. You will choose your own password when you register at the website. Your User ID and Password will remain valid throughout the year and are used in the annual Medical and Dental Plan Open Enrollment, so do not lose them. The HR Self Service website is protected by Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).  SSL is a protocol for transmitting private documents and data.  SSL encrypts (translation of data into a secret code) data that’s transferred over a secure network connection. The HR Self Service website is secure and operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week all year long.

 

The site was developed to empower the DWP Worker to manage both their employee benefits and personal work related information.  The site allows for an individual to:

 

§         Changes to personal home and mailing address

§         Identifying Emergency Contacts

§         Listing Personal Phone Contact Numbers

§         Changes to Medical/Dental Benefit Plans

§         Add or Delete Dependents to Medical or Dental Plans

 

In order to enroll or make changes to a Union-Sponsored Plan  (Blue Cross), you must contact the IBEW Local 18 Benefit Service Center at 1-800-842-6635.

We encourage you to visit the website to review your DWP sponsored Medical and Dental Benefits. The eBenefits website can be accessed on the Internet at https://hrselfservice.ladwp.com or at https://ebenefits.ladwp.com.

 

If you have problems accessing eBenefits, send an email to eBenefits@ladwp.com.

If you have already registered, please click the Sign-In link in the upper right-hand section of the page. You will need your User ID and the Password you created during registration.

 

To continue with the Registration Process, please enter your Employee Number and Registration Code then click the Submit Registration button. You will then be asked to supply User Profile information.

Enter your email address, password choice, Security Question and Answer, then click the Submit Profile button.

If at any time you would like to change your User Profile, click the User Profile link on the left-hand side of the page.  To review or modify your coverage and your dependent’s coverage, click Medical Benefits, Dental Benefits, and/or Dependents link.

Please enter your User ID (Employee Number), then click the Submit button. You will be asked to supply the answer to the Security Question you chose during registration.

If you have forgotten the answer to your Security Question, you will need to re-register for the eBenefits website and enter a new profile. Please email at ebenefits@ladwp.com to reset your profile.

Top Navigation

If you ever get lost, clicking the Home link will take you back to the Welcome page shown on the Review Benefits Screen.

 

When you are finished viewing your eBenefits information, you may log out of this application by clicking the Sign-Out link in the upper right-hand section of the page. This will securely end your session. 

 

Once you have registered, you may click the Sign-In link in the upper right-hand section of the page to go to the Login Screen.  The Sign-In link is displayed while you are logged out.

 

Clicking the Help link will take you to this User Guide and helpful phone numbers and email addresses.

You may also switch between the Medical Benefits, Dental Benefits, and Dependents Screens by clicking the tabs at the top of the page.

 

 

Coverage Review

 

Medical Coverage Screen

 

 

This screen lists your current medical plan and your covered dependents.

 

To change the medical plan for you and your dependents, click the Change Medical Plan button. You will be allowed to switch to another medical plan as allowed by your Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU).  Refer to your Options Guide for specific information on plans and limitations.

 

To add or delete coverage for one of your dependents or to change other information about a dependent, click the dependent’s name link or the Change link in the Medical Coverage column on the same row.

 

To add a new dependent not already listed here, click the View Dependents button.

You will be allowed to change coverage and other information about this dependent.

Dental Coverage Screen

 

 

This screen lists your current dental plan and your covered dependents.

 

To change the dental plan for you and your dependents, click the Change Dental Plan button. You will be allowed to switch to another dental plan as allowed by your MOU.  Refer to your Options Guide for specific information on plans and limitations.

 

To add or delete coverage for one of your dependents or to change other information about a dependent, click the dependent’s name link or the Change link in the Dental Coverage column on the same row.

 

To add a new dependent not already listed here, click the View Dependents button.

You will be allowed to change coverage and other information about this dependent.

This screen lists all registered dependents. Medical and Dental coverage status are shown for each dependent.  Refer to your Options Guide for specific information on adding dependents.

To change your medical plan, select a new medical plan from the Change Plan to selection box. This change will affect you and your covered dependents.

 

When you are finished, click the Save Changes button to record your changes.   You will be provided with a confirmation page, and the Health Plans Office will mail a confirmation letter to your address on file.

To change the dental plan for you and your dependents, click the Change Dental Plan button on the Dental Coverage Screen.   This will take you to the Change Dental Benefits Screen.

 

This screen allows you to change the dental plan for you and your dependents.  You will be allowed to switch to another dental plan as allowed by your MOU.  Refer to your Options Guide for specific information on plans and limitations.

 

To change your dental plan, select a new medical plan from the Change Plan to selection box. This change will affect you and your covered dependents.

 

When you are finished, click the Save Changes button to record your changes.

You will be provided with a confirmation page, and the Health Plans Office will mail a confirmation letter to your address on file.
